A Better Wisconsin Together Political Fund released three new digital ads hitting Schimel, including a 30-second spot that says he would be “one of the most extreme justices in Wisconsin history.”
The buys are part of the additional $550,000 the group reported today to the state Ethics Commission.
The narrator in the 30-second spot says Schimel wanted Roe v. Wade overturned and supports an 1849 law banning abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. It plays a clip of him asking, “what is flawed about that law?”
“Wisconsin women deserve better,” the narrator says to close the spot. “We can’t let extreme politician Brad Schimel on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”
One 15-second ad says Schimel “cut deals” when children were preyed upon and rape kits weren’t tested when women were assaulted. That spot closes, “Brad Schimel doesn’t care about justice, and he’s too extreme for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”The other 15-second spot praises Crawford as “the common sense judge we need on the Wisconsin Supreme Court,” calling her fair and impartial before closing by urging a vote for her.
