WEDC Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes, who has been weighing a run for guv, is leaving the Evers administration next week.

Gov. Tony Evers this afternoon announced Hughes, who has served in the role for six years, will resign, effective Sept. 19.

Hughes made no mention of her next step in the announcement the guv’s office released.

“Every day, Wisconsin is solving problems for the world, and we’ve made sure the world has us on its mind,” Hughes said.
