WASHINGTON, DC — In case you missed it, Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) State Director Megan Novak joined the Ruthless Variety Progrum to talk about the national implications of the Wisconsin Supreme Court race.
Watch full interview HERE.
On Impact of Supreme Court Election:
“It is our last chance to flip the court back from a liberal majority to a conservative, rule of law majority until 2028.”
“The liberal running for this, Susan Crawford, she participated in a fundraiser with the subject line [‘Chance to put two more House seats in play for 2026’]. She is actively participating in fundraisers about how [Democrats] can gerrymander two congressional seats, WI-01 and WI-03, for the Democrats to take away the House majority.
“If anyone here cares about the America first agenda, and Trump getting his agenda done, they have to care about the Supreme Court race because if we lose, that House majority is gone.”
On AFP-WI Engagement in the Race:
“The number one thing is [AFP-WI] didn’t pack up our bags and go home after the November election, we took a two week break and were right back on doors talking about the Supreme Court race. When the Trump victory was fresh in everyone’s minds, we were out there talking to everyone directly about: ‘here’s the next election you have to care about,’ because it didn’t end on November 5 for everyone.
“There’s so much at stake in this election. We’ve reached almost 300,000 voters directly since before Thanksgiving last year and will be through April 1.
…
“We’ll be out there every single day until then because we know those voters are going to be more likely to turn out if we’re able to talk to them face to face.”
On Why Brad Schimel:
“Brad is a good guy, which helps in Wisconsin. We like super authentic, real people when we elect candidates. We don’t want a fake person coming in and carpetbagging. We want the guy that passes the beer test and we can sit at the bar and have our Miller Lite with.”
“Not only was he a District Attorney, Wisconsin Attorney General, and Circuit Court Judge, he’s in a rock cover band he plays bass… They don’t want some stuffy, condescending person, like his opponent is. They want someone they can relate to and that’s Brad Schimel.”
On Susan Crawford’s Progressive Record:
“Act 10, the big labor reform… the reform that took back collective bargaining from public sector unions actually saved our state from becoming Illinois, she argued against it and tried to overturn it in the courts because she is that radical. Full Dane County, absolute progressive, hold nothing back, that is who she is.”
“I like to call her Chameleon Crawford, she does a really good job pretending to be a moderate…she’s endorsed by one sheriff, maybe two…Brad Schimel is endorsed by 80. You tell me who is the law enforcement candidate, it’s Brad Schimel.”
On Joining AFP-WI in the Race to Election Day:
“AFPWisconsin.com is the best place to get in touch with us and fill out the form directly…and we’ll get in touch with you right away… If you’re in Wisconsin you can come out and knock doors with us. If you’re out of Wisconsin making phone calls, talking to any family and friends you have in Wisconsin, knowing what’s at stake is super important and that’s the best way to reach us.”
“You can do a lot in a couple weeks here. Early voting starts March 18 so that’s really where the rubber hits the road of making sure we’re turning out every single Brad Schimel voter that we can once early voting starts and through Election Day.”
