Madison, WI – In tonight’s debate, Susan Crawford attempts to tout her record as a prosecutor, but Wisconsinites won’t be fooled—her soft-on-crime record shows exactly the judge she will be if elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Crawford’s long history of letting criminals roam our streets should be concerning for everyone in Wisconsin:

  • Susan Crawford sentenced a repeat child predator found guilty on three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13, facing 100 years behind bars, to only four years in prison.
  • Crawford expressed sympathy for violent criminals and stood by her decisions when confronted.
  • Crawford allowed repeat sexual offenders to roam free and even live near elementary schools.

AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:

“Susan ‘Catch-and-Release’ Crawford’s soft spot for violent abusers and lenient sentencing for sexual predators should concern every Wisconsinite. While Brad Schimel has spent a career protecting our communities, Crawford has released criminals back on our streets endangering our children and our communities. Voters know Brad Schimel is the only candidate committed to enforcing the rule of law, protecting our communities, and prioritizing victims over criminals.”
