Madison, WI –Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) is launching a six-figure, statewide accountability campaign this week to expose Governor Evers’ disastrous economic agenda. Wisconsin can no longer afford the massive tax hikes, failing education policies, and rising energy costs the Evers administration has implemented across the Badger State.
AFP-WI’s best-in-class grassroots activists will work day in and day out to ensure that when Wisconsinites are asked, ‘Are you better off over the last seven years?’ they know Governor Evers’ policies are to blame when the answer is a resounding ‘NO.’
AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:
“Governor Evers has spent nearly eight years trying to turn Wisconsin into Illinois. Wisconsinites do not support these radical policies and know that our hardworking families and neighbors cannot afford it any longer.
“Wisconsinites have a choice. We can work towards the path of economic prosperity or stand by and accept more top-down government control that stifles our prosperity. Governor Evers has failed Wisconsin, and now it’s time he is held accountable.”
Governor Evers’ actions in key areas have failed the Badger State:
- Crippling Tax Burden: Governor Evers vetoed crucial middle-class tax relief and used his veto pen to lock in property tax increases for the next 400 years, placing an unfair burden on hardworking Wisconsinites.
- Failing Schools, Fewer Choices: Despite record education funding, reading and math scores have plummeted under Evers’ leadership. He vetoed critical reading reforms and continues to limit options for families seeking better opportunities for their children.
- Soaring Energy Costs: Evers’ extreme energy policies and his appointees to the Public Service Commission have sent utility bills skyrocketing and undermined reliability. As a result, Wisconsin has the second-highest electricity rates in the Midwest.
