MADISON — Leaders from 16 schools and districts from across Wisconsin showcased their continuous improvement efforts at the inaugural Creating a Culture of Excellence for All Conference, held June 26-27 in Green Bay.

The conference highlighted leadership practices essential to building continuous improvement at the school and district levels. Keynote speakers Doug Reeves and Allyson Apsey from Creative Leadership Solutions addressed the factors that matter most for effective educational leadership and explored how school improvement plans can serve as catalysts for meaningful and lasting change.

The event was organized by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators, the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators, and the CESA Statewide Network, in partnership with the Wisconsin Center for Educational Research. It featured sessions by Wisconsin school and district leaders, including those from urban, rural, and suburban districts and schools. They presented on how their continuous improvement efforts are translating into impressive student outcomes.

“This outstanding conference provided a platform for educators to share effective practices and learn from one another,” said WASDA Executive Director Jon Bales. “We so appreciate these exemplary schools and districts sharing information about their continuous improvement efforts,” added AWSA Executive Director Jim Lynch.

Topics covered during the conference included leadership strategies for fostering high-impact educational environments, implementing Professional Learning Communities to enhance teaching and learning, and leveraging data-driven decision making to drive student achievement. Speakers also covered how to build inclusive and high-achieving school cultures through shared leadership, along with the development of systems to support continuous improvement and innovation.
