Poll shows Lt. Governor Barnes easily defeating general election challengers

Lt. Governor Barnes will take on Donald Trump, supporting redistricting in Wisconsin and fight rising health care costs

Today, Senator Adam Schiff announced his support for former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes. Senator Schiff became a prominent national figure after he led the first impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump and served on the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

“Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes is exactly the kind of bold leader we need to take on the Trump Administration,” said Senator Schiff. “He knows how badly the president has betrayed working people, raising their costs instead of lowering them, and enriching himself in the process. Mandela knows what middle class Americans need, because their story is his story too. He will never stop fighting to bring down prices, expand healthcare, and put a stop to tax giveaways for the ultrawealthy.”

Lt. Governor Barnes has pledged to take on Donald Trump as Governor of Wisconsin. He announced last week that he will support redistricting efforts in the state. With ACA premiums about to expire, Lt. Governor Barnes has also promised to finally expand Badgercare, the state’s healthcare exchange. Lt. Governor Barnes has said he will veto any state budget that doesn’t include an expansion of the program.

“I am very grateful to have Senator Schiff’s support,” said Lt. Governor Barnes. “He’s been a fearless leader in taking on Donald Trump, and it’s a real honor that he believes I’m the best person to stand up to the President for Wisconsinites.”

Lt. Governor Barnes has also been endorsed by End Citizens United, which works to rid special interest money from politics. He has pledged to reject any corporate PAC money. Barnes was also endorsed by the largest private sector union in Wisconsin – UFCW Local 1473 – as well as a dozen mayors and other elected officials across the Badger state. Early polls show that he is in the strongest position in the primary and in the general election, beating both of the potential Republican nominees by a healthy margin.
