WHITEFISH BAY, Wisc. — In case you missed it, Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball made a massive change in the race for Wisconsin Governor. On Tuesday, the political prediction team with the Center for Politics changed the Badger State’s gubernatorial race from “Lean Dem” to “TOSS-UP.”

“The pundits and experts are recognizing the same writing on the wall that Tony Evers saw: Wisconsin is done buying what the radical Madison Democrats are selling,” Berrien said in a statement.

For longtime watchers of Sabato’s Crystal Ball, it’s not just the change from incumbent to open seat that results in a shift, but strong candidates, like Bill Berrien, who influence whether a ratings change will follow.

A former Navy SEAL and Wisconsin Manufacturer, Berrien has already shown himself to be the Trump-conservative political outsider in the race for governor. With a super PAC that has raised $1.2 million and Berrien himself touting close to $1 million raised in the first week of his campaign, Democrats know that whomever they put up against the former SEAL will quickly realize that the race for governor will be an uphill battle.
