CALEDONIA, Wis.- Following is the statement of Army veteran, cancer survivor, former Ironworker and candidate for the First Congressional District Randy Bryce following an errant statement by his campaign that suggested Rep. Bryan Steil was conducting town halls in his district following Steil’s vote to cut Medicaid, food support, Medicare, veterans benefit – and Social Security:
“I want to apologize personally to millionaire, Bryan Steil, for suggesting that he had the courage to show up in his own district to face the veterans, seniors, farmers, people with disabilities and working families he has betrayed by voting to cut Medicaid, food support, Medicare, veterans benefits and Social Security.
“I was wrong to even think that a corporate attorney like Steil had the spine to show up or be in the same room as the people from Union Grove or Janesville or Whitewater who have to work for a living. It was wrong of me to suggest he had the courage to look people in the face and tell them what he has done to screw them.”
