[Madison, WI] — Child Advocacy Centers of Wisconsin proudly congratulates Representative Patrick Snyder (R–Schofield) for receiving the Champions for Children State Advocacy Award by the National Children’s Alliance (NCA). This national honor
recognizes state policymakers who demonstrate exceptional leadership in strengthening the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) model through legislative and administrative efforts.

Representative Snyder was nominated for his instrumental work in championing Wisconsin Act 241, a one-time funding bill that provided stop gap funding for crime victims serving programs, including Child Advocacy Centers, amid federal funding reductions. His commitment to the Child Advocacy Center movement continues during the current legislative session. He provides advocacy and a steadfast commitment to address policy and funding gaps and plays a pivotal role in advancing the CAC mission of providing child-centered, trauma-informed responses to abuse.

“Representative Pat Snyder is a true hero for the children of Wisconsin,” said Amanda Didier, board chair for Child Advocacy Centers of Wisconsin. “His commendable work on Act 241 and ongoing legislative efforts exemplifies the ideal partnership that all CACs seek in an elected official. Representative Snyder has placed child advocacy centers at the forefront of legislative discussions on addressing child abuse, family violence, and neglect. His countless hours of unwavering dedication to securing adequate funding for these centers mean that thousands more children in Wisconsin will have the opportunity to heal and thrive after experiencing trauma. This national recognition is a testament to his commitment and impact.”
