EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – On Thursday, Rebecca Cooke for Congress announced the endorsement of Social Security Works PAC, an organization committed to protecting and expanding Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.

“Here in Wisconsin, we believe in the payoff of hard work, and that our parents, grandparents, and neighbors should be able to count on their earned benefits. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are vital lifelines, providing healthcare and financial security,” said Cooke. “As Derrick Van Orden panders to his wealthy Wall Street backers, he is dead set on gutting benefits and raising the retirement age – but Wisconsin won’t stand for it. I’m grateful to have Social Security Works by our side because I’m running for Congress to ensure that our seniors can age with dignity.”

“Rebecca Cooke is a leader who will fight to protect and expand Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, while also working to lower the outrageous cost of prescription drugs. We can always count on her to stand up and fight to protect the earned benefits our nation’s seniors have worked hard for and rely on,” said Jon “Bowzer” Baumann, President of Social Security Works PAC.

Momentum continues to build behind Cooke’s campaign as she earns support from organizations including the Blue Dog Coalition, Elect Democratic Women, EMILY’s List, SMART and UFWC Unions. She’s also garnered the support of working-class champion Senator Bernie Sanders and over 15 Members of Congress from progressives to moderates. In district, Cooke has the backing of State Senator Brad Pfaff, and a broad coalition of farmers, small business owners, educators and healthcare workers across WI-03. View the full list of endorsers here.
