MADISON, Wis. — After losing last night’s debate, Brad Schimel fled. He dodged, ducked, dipped, dived, and dodged from questions after the debate on his losing performance and failed record.
It was just the latest example of Schimel’s rudderless and flailing campaign. After spending the evening doubling down on his support for a near total ban on abortion and refusing to say whether he would’ve voted to overturn the 2020 election, it was clearer than ever that Schimel has no interest in being a fair and impartial member of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Hiding from the media isn’t surprising for Brad Schimel. We’ve heard just how hard he is to schedule for interviews and how he hides from tough questions. Instead of answering questions from the press, Brad Schimel sent two surrogates in his place.
Meanwhile, after an hour of debating, Judge Susan Crawford stepped up to the podium—with the majority of justices on the Wisconsin Supreme Court standing behind her—and delivered remarks. Judge Crawford then took even more press questions.
