LA CROSSE – Today, La Crosse Mayor Shaundel Washington-Spivey announced his endorsement of Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley in the Democratic primary for governor of Wisconsin.
Mayor Washington-Spivey praised Crowley’s record of executive leadership as the qualities Wisconsin needs in its next governor.
“I’m excited to stand alongside David Crowley, our future governor of the state of Wisconsin,” said Mayor Washington-Spivey. “While serving as County Executive, David has been committed to investing in public safety, building affordable housing, creating new jobs, cutting property taxes, and balancing the budget. I am supporting David for governor because he has experience tackling tough issues in Milwaukee County and believe he will do the same and more for every community in the state.”
Mayor Washington-Spivey mentioned Crowley’s commitment to improving life for working families and that Wisconsinites deserve a governor who understands the struggles families face each day.
“Wisconsin deserves a leader who knows what it is like to struggle just like many families working harder than ever each day, but barely getting by. Wisconsin is ready. We are ready to have new leadership that can address issues that matter to everyone, not just Milwaukee, not just Democrats, but Wisconsin. With all of David’s experience, and a proven track record of working for all Wisconsinites, I believe he will be able to hit the ground running as our next governor.”
