DCCC spokesperson Katie Smith released the following statement in response to JD Vance visiting La Crosse in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District to lie about Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law:
“Derrick Van Orden spent months lying to Wisconsinites and claiming he’d never vote to cut Medicaid. Instead, he cast the deciding vote to slash Medicaid, rip away health care, jeopardize rural hospitals, and raise families’ costs.
“After Van Orden’s latest public meltdown when he was called out for his lies, JD Vance is parachuting in to try to bail Van Orden out in the latest pathetic attempt to lie to Wisconsinites about the bill’s impact on working families.
“Wisconsin voters know BS when they see it: Van Orden chose to kick his constituents off their health care so he could give tax cuts to billionaires and special interests, and voters will hold him accountable for his betrayal.”
