MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin National Guard is scheduled to support numerous community events throughout the state this week in celebration of our nation’s independence.    

The 132nd Army Band will perform in Waunakee July 1 and Platteville July 3, and march in Independence Day parades in West Allis July 2, and both Oconomowoc and Deforest July 4.

Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 120th Field Artillery will contribute to the Independence Day celebration in Berlin July 3, and 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade personnel will march in the Superior parade July 4.

The Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 147th Aviation will provide UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter static displays at celebrations in Waunakee and Delafield July 4.

Lastly, the Air National Guard’s 115th Fighter Wing will conduct a 2-ship F-35 Lightning II flyover of Independence Day festivities in Union Grove, Racine, Oconomowoc, Rhinelander, Greenfield, Barnes, Land O Lakes, Manitowish Waters, Minocqua and Waunakee July 4 between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The Wisconsin National Guard is comprised of more than 9,000 Soldiers and Airmen who regularly deploy worldwide in support of their federal mission and remain continuously prepared to support domestic emergencies within the state of Wisconsin and throughout the U.S.
