MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Wisconsin National Guard will hold a formal deployment send-off ceremony for the 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery Regiment Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the main ballroom of the Baird Center.

This ceremony will mark the departure of more than 400 Soldiers as they depart for a year-long mobilization to the Middle East.

Senior leaders of the Wisconsin National Guard will preside over the ceremony, offering remarks and formally sending off the unit. The event will highlight the regiment’s readiness and dedication, while recognizing the challenges of separation from loved ones during the holidays and throughout the deployment.

Leadership Quote

“The holiday season is a time when families traditionally gather together, and the fact that these Soldiers are preparing to spend the next year away from their loved ones speaks volumes about their commitment to duty,” said Maj. Gen. Matthew Strub, Wisconsin’s adjutant general. “We are proud of their professionalism and sacrifice, and we stand with their families as they begin this deployment.”
