MADISON, Wis. — Experts from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will present the results of the Southwest Wisconsin Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), Deer and Predator Research Study at the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in room G09 in the State Natural Resources Building located at 101 S. Webster St. in Madison. The presentation will be part of item 6 as listed on the meeting agenda.

All NRB meetings are open to the public and can also be be viewed live on YouTube. Media are invited and encouraged to stream and record the presentation to use in their subsequent coverage.


Following the NRB meeting, the DNR will issue a news release containing a link to the study, and host a separate virtual media briefing to recap the results on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 3:30 p.m.

The DNR will discuss the primary results of the study, including the impacts of CWD on deer survival and population growth in southwest Wisconsin as well as its implications for CWD and deer management.
