Karen LeCuyer, PH.D., is a partner and leading attorney in the world of patent law. She provides patent representation to clients working in the disciplines of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, with an emphasis on formulations and drug delivery/nanomedicine, life science, biotechnology, biological polymers, dermal fillers, diagnostics, agriculture, animal health, materials science, and other areas. LeCuyer holds a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Yale University, and a B.S., Chemistry and Biology, summa cum laude, from Providence College.
Charles Sara is a partner and registered patent attorney with a science background that helped develop his niche in the area of intellectual property. Sara’s patent expertise focuses on biotechnology, animal and plant agriculture, dairy and cheese science, medical products, food and nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical arts. He has more than 30 years of experience in U.S. and foreign intellectual property; patents, trademark, and copyright prosecution, protection, and litigation; patent infringement and validity opinions; and licensing and technology transfers. He holds a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina.

David Biek, Partner, has 30 years of experience as both in-house and outside IP counsel. He has a unique perspective that enables him to offer keen insights to corporate entities and individuals alike. Biek has negotiated numerous divestitures, acquisitions, joint ventures, licensing, and collaborative research transactions with third parties internationally. Additionally, he has litigated or managed numerous large-stakes patent and trade secrets infringement cases and provided legal opinions to clients on a wide array of infringement and patent validity issues. Biek earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University Law School and a B.S.E., Chemical Engineering, from Princeton University.
Brian Pollack is a partner and skilled attorney with a deep understanding of patent prosecution and patent litigation. His background in engineering, coupled with his legal expertise, makes him well-equipped to handle the most complex patent disputes. He represents clients in a wide range of industries, including medical devices, manufacturing, medical imaging, and computer software. His experience includes patent litigation and patent prosecution, as well as trademark and copyright matters. Pollack holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School, a Master of Science degree in both Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a B.S., magna cum laude inMechanical Engineering, from Manhattan College.

Joseph Miotke, Partner, is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice group. For more than twenty years he has distinguished himself as a leading intellectual property (“IP”) litigator, patent attorney, and IP strategist. Recognized as among the top patent attorneys and IP attorneys in the United States, Miotke has worked across a wide spectrum of patent, trade secret, copyright, and trademark matters involving technologies ranging from artificial intelligence and machine learning to energy production and hydraulic fracturing. He speaks across North America and publishes frequently on IP-related matters. Miotke holds a J.D., magna cum laude, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Marquette University Law School.
Elizabeth Neal is an associate who focuses her Intellectual Property practice on assisting clients in patent application drafting and prosecution, patent licensing, trademark evaluation and prosecution, patent infringement litigation, and intellectual property research. She specializes in the life sciences, mechanical, and electrical fields. Neal has demonstrated expertise in determining novel, patentable features when collaborating with inventors to draft patent applications. She has successfully prosecuted patent applications in both U.S. and foreign jurisdictions. Neal holds a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University.
