Now that Donald Trump has entered the White House, he is wasting no time making good on his Project 2025 promises. As Trump attacks essential programs and elevates the architects of Project 2025 to lead his administration, Wisconsinites are bracing for one of the most devastating proposals within Project 2025: defunding public education.

As Trump prepares to screw over Americans by doubling down on his Project 2025 agenda to attack the programs Wisconsin families rely on to access affordable, quality education, DNC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy released the following statement:

“If it were up to Donald Trump, public education in Wisconsin would be decimated. Through his Project 2025 agenda, Trump and his billionaire Secretary pick Linda McMahon intend to dismantle the Department of Education, end critical Title I funding that would jeopardize 36,188 students’ education, and roll back life-changing loan relief efforts for Wisconsinites to fund tax cuts for the rich. Democrats will fight tooth and nail against Trump and his billionaire backers’ plan to dismantle Wisconsin’s public education.”

Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda would make it harder for Wisconsin families to access affordable, quality education – despite overwhelming public opposition to education cuts.

“Under Project 2025, 120,700 borrowers in Wisconsin enrolled in SAVE would pay $2,700 to $4,100 more each year.

“Ending Title I would lead to the loss of 2,641 teaching positions, which serve 36,188 students, in Wisconsin.”

Donald Trump tapped Linda McMahon to lead the Department of Education – a billionaire who is grossly underqualified, lied about having an education degree, and wants to drain resources from public schools.

Aaron Blake: “Linda McMahon, Trump’s pick for Education secretary, resigned from a state education board shortly after a newspaper asked her about her false claim that she had an education degree.”

Mother Jones: “Linda McMahon, Secretary of Plunder”

“‘Her chief goal for education is to promote vouchers, which drain resources from public schools and send taxpayer money to unaccountable private schools that are permitted to discriminate against students and educators. The policies she promotes are aligned with Trump’s Project 2025 plan.’”
