Dr. Jill Underly, who is seeking re-election as the Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Education, will meet with voters at a campaign stop in Nelson, Wisconsin on February 1. Organized by the Driftless Area Voters for Wisconsin, the event will take place at the Nelson Community Center and begin at 10am.

Since 2021, Dr. Underly has served as Wisconsin’s statewide elected State Superintendent. Prior to that, she was an elementary school principal, a middle and high school teacher, a school district superintendent, a university academic advisor and administrator, and assistant director at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Dr. Underly faces two challengers in this nonpartisan race – Jeff Wright and Brittany Kinser. The February 18 primary will decide which two candidates advance to the April 1 election.

The meet-and-greet with Dr. Underly will be the second event hosted by the Driftless Area Voters for Wisconsin (DAVFW). DAVFW isa newly formed group composed of members from Buffalo, Pepin, Pierce, St. Croix, and Trempealeau Counties (Wisconsin Senate District 10).They organized to sponsor speakers for monthly presentations on topics of local interest within their communities. DAVFW’s premiere event was held on January 18 in Mondovi and featured Judge Susan Crawford, Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate.
