Dem Gov. Tony Evers announced his administration has moved to immediately deliver full November benefits for those on FoodShare after a court directed President Trump to fund the payments.

Evers said last night full November payments were expected to be available today to the 700,000 Wisconsinites on the program, barring Trump defying the court order, the administration seeking an emergency stay or a vendor processing issue.

“It was damn important that we can get this done and moved as quickly as we could, and that’s what we’re doing,” Evers said in last night’s statement. “My administration worked quickly to ensure these benefits could be released as soon as possible so that our kids, families, and seniors have access to basic food and groceries without one more day of delay.”

A federal judge last week ordered the Trump administration to use emergency funds for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in time for the Nov. 1 payment to be made. But the administration initially only committed to partially funding the program.

The judge then issued another order yesterday directing the program to be fully funded for the month of November by today.

U.S. Department of Justice orders in a court filing late yesterday indicated plans to appeal.
