The conservative Fair Courts America has launched the first TV ad in its campaign against Crawford, knocking her “soft on crime agenda.”

The group filed notice with the state that it’s spent almost $2.6 million on TV ads opposing Crawford.

The new spot is the first one that AdImpact has tracked by the group, which is largely funded by Illinois businessman Dick Uihlein.

The narrator says a predator faced up to 60 years in prisoner after violating a 5-year-old girl, but Crawford “sided with him.” The narrator adds he was released on a $500 bond, lived across from a school and was sentenced for four years in prison, but is free now because of Crawford.

The spot concludes, “Catch and release Crawford, don’t take the risk.”
