Today, Fair Wisconsin will testify before the Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities in opposition to AB 102, a bill that would ban trans female athletes from playing in college sports at any level, including intramural. In addition to mobilizing community members to testify in-person and collecting written testimony to submit on behalf of Wisconsinites, Fair Wisconsin’s Executive Director Abigail Swetz will testify in opposition to AB 102. “Sports is always about more than just the score, more than just the game. I should know – I live in Green Bay. These athlete ban bills are about more than just the makeup of a team; they are about excluding trans people from public life, and we cannot allow that, especially when our trans community is facing so much hostility from other levels of government. I urge the committee to vote no on AB 102.”
Fair Wisconsin is Wisconsin’s only statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights and political advocacy organization.
