Today, Fair Wisconsin will testify before the Assembly Committee on Education in opposition to AB100 and AB103, both bills that would harm trans youth in Wisconsin were they to become law. In addition to mobilizing community members to testify in-person and collecting written testimony to submit on behalf of hundreds of Wisconsinites, Fair Wisconsin’s Executive Director Abigail Swetz will testify in opposition to both bills. Full testimony from Swetz on both bills is attached. She will conclude her testimony today with a message to the trans kids of Wisconsin:
“Remember that there are so many people in this state who love you exactly as you are and exactly as you will someday become. Always know you are worthy of that love, and of your own future. We are grateful for you, and Wisconsin is a better place because you are here.”
Fair Wisconsin is Wisconsin’s only statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights and political advocacy organization.
