Madison, WI—Dem. Governor Candidate and former State Representative Brett Hulsey
called for peace and respect in the wake of an arrest for a man for threatening to bomb the
state capitol.

“Violence is not the solution to our challenges. I was honored to serve in the Assembly in
2011 and help fight the Walker “Unfair Despair” Act 10,” said Brett. “One hallmark of that
struggle was being peaceful and respectful no matter what party you are from.”

One example was when Brett helped diffuse a crowd around then State Senator and now Congressman Glenn Grothman. He had made disparaging comments about the citizens
camping outside the Capitol because they were locked out.

The citizen filmed video link is here.

“I tried to get my friend Glenn to safety as best I could but we were cornered and the police
would not let us in the West Washington Capitol entrance,” said Brett. “Thanks to the
protest leaders who helped diffuse the situation and Madison fire fighters who arrived and,
when they too were not allowed in, provided blockers to get Glenn out of harm’s way.
Getting Glenn out was like running the Wishbone offense playing football in Oklahoma.”

One of Brett’s goals is to restore friendship, peace and respect to the political process.

“Inmy time in the Assembly, I was often the only Democratic member to have a beer with
Speaker Vos and GOP leaders. I was raised Republican and need to speak Republican to
effectively win them over to make a better Wisconsin for my family and yours,” said Brett.
