Franklin, WI – Forward Latino, a national non-profit, non-partisan service and advocacy organization headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin and with affiliates and members in twenty-nine states condemns the use of National Guard troops in immigration enforcement actions.
National President Darryl Morin issued the following statement:
“Forward Latino condemns the use of the National Guard in immigration enforcement actions. The persistent falsehoods spread by administration officials demonizing our community while unjustly arresting, detaining, and deporting individuals who are lawfully present, as well as those with no criminal record, have profoundly eroded public trust in these enforcement actions.
Forward Latino encourages all individuals to demonstrate peacefully, and when safe, to record and forward all footage of enforcement actions they witness.
We remind all members of the military of their solemn oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States, which guarantees the rights of all individuals within our borders.”
