WISCONSIN–Forward Together Wisconsin President Mandela Barnes released the following statement in response to the House Republican proposal to eliminate critical climate and clean energy programs.
“It’s a great day for billionaires and polluters. Republicans in Congress are taking an ax to the critical climate and clean energy programs that are creating jobs, saving us money, and making our communities healthier to fund big tax breaks and benefit the fossil fuel industry.
“This short-sighted decision will be paid for by this generation and the next seven to come.
“But climate action isn’t just about politics, it’s about people. It’s not too late for families, workers, students, farmers, faith leaders, Tribal members, business owners, health professionals, and everyone who cares about our future to make their voices heard.”
