GIFFORDS Law Center’s Annual Gun Law Scorecard grades and ranks all 50 states on their gun laws
WASHINGTON — GIFFORDS Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence released the latest edition of its Annual Gun Law Scorecard, which grades and ranks each state on the strength of its gun laws. The comprehensive, 50-state analysis reflects that states with stronger gun laws have lower gun death rates and save more lives. This year, Wisconsin received a C.
“Year after year, the data is clear: commonsense gun laws stop crime and save lives. The Annual Gun Law Scorecard gives lawmakers, advocates and everyday Americans the tools they need to build a future where gun violence is rare and crime is not routine,” said GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown. “In states like Wisconsin there’s still critical work ahead to pass the reforms that will protect our communities—and that’s what we’re committed to do.”
