Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski praised Wisconsin Democrats for their work in winning recent statewide elections and encouraged party activists to keep fighting.
“Next time somebody asks what Democrats are doing in Wisconsin, you just tell them we’re winning,” Godlweski said at the Dem state convention. She was just declared 1st Vice Chair of the state party.
She praised Gov. Tony Evers’ budget for expanding healthcare access, supporting working families, lowering childcare costs and investing in public education.
Godlewski slammed President Donald Trump’s “big beautiful bill,” saying “spoiler alert: it’s not beautiful, it’s bullshit.” She criticized the bill for slashing Medicaid in Wisconsin and cutting food aid for state residents.

Godlewski encouraged Democrats to have the back of Wisconsin’s Democratic elected leaders who are fighting for the state.
“This is why I am so excited to be your first vice chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin,” Godlewski said. “I believe we can actually fire people up, not just about what we’re fighting against, and what we’re fighting for.”
Godlewski said the party could focus on organizing, speaking to voters and “winning together.”
