MILWAUKEE – Joel Brennan, president of the Greater Milwaukee Committee (GMC), today announced he will step away from that role.
Cristy Garcia-Thomas – a long-standing business executive and member of the GMC Board – will serve as interim president. Garcia-Thomas brings deep experience, respect across the organization, and a strong commitment to the GMC’s regional mission.
“I am honored to serve as interim president,” said Garcia-Thomas. “The GMC has a critically important mission for our region. I look forward to working alongside the exceptional team and members of the GMC, advancing our work to strengthen the Milwaukee region.”
Under Brennan’s tenure, the GMC has championed collaborative efforts across business, civic, and community sectors to drive inclusive growth and strengthen the Milwaukee region. Brennan affirmed his continued dedication to GMC’s mission.
About the Greater Milwaukee Committee:
The Greater Milwaukee Committee is a private sector civic organization whose mission is to contribute to the cultural and economic base of the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. The organization was formed in the late 1940s and is composed of leaders in business, the professions, labor, education and philanthropy, nonprofit community development.
