Senate Minority Leader Diane Hesselbein celebrated new state maps that led to more Democratic seats in the Senate and proclaimed she’s “optimistic” Democrats can win back the Senate majority next year.
“I cannot wait to take back the state Senate in 2026. But between now and then, we have work to do,” the Middleton Dem said during a speech at the Dem state convention today.
She bemoaned the Republicans’ developing state budget, saying they stripped money for childcare, K12 education and PFAS remediation.
Hesselbein promised Democrats would invest in K-12 funding, higher education, health care, and healthy school meals.
