House Majority Forward is launching a TV ad criticizing U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien, for high costs and a possible government shutdown.
The ad is part of a $3 million campaign targeting House Republicans. That includes $300,000 for the spot knocking Van Orden that will run on broadcast TV in La Crosse for three weeks.
In the ad, Wisconsin political influencer Kate Duffy says thanks to Van Orden, “everything is a lot more expensive right now.”
“Not only did he support all the tariffs that are hiking prices on everyday essentials from groceries to school supplies, he also voted to raise health care costs by cutting Medicaid,” Duffy says. “Meanwhile, families are trying to stretch every dollar to pay their bills. And now Republicans in Congress are actually threatening to shut down the government, which will cause even more economic chaos.”

Duffy encourages viewers to call Van Orden and tell him to stop raising costs on Wisconsin families.
