THORP – Jesse James, State Senator for the 23rd Senate District, announced he is returning to Altoona at the end of his term and will run for the 31st Senate District next year.
“I am ready to come home. When the maps changed, my home in Altoona was drawn out of my district. I no longer represented Eau Claire County, my home, and my community. The district I was elected to included four new counties and new constituents who did not vote for me. Back home, I was no longer the State Senator for my wife and my family. However, in order to honor the voters who elected me to serve, I chose to uproot my home to finish my term.
“I immediately got to work to serve the newly constructed 23rd Senate District, and I am proud of ALL our efforts. We have been extraordinarily successful. I have met incredible people, visited numerous small businesses, toured school districts, got hands-on at local farms, joined community events, and built relationships along the way that I will never forget. I am blessed to do what I do, no matter where I serve. For me, it is all about the people!
“But it is time for me to come home. I am ready to represent the voters who elected me in 2022. I am ready to represent the community I grew up in, that my family resides in, and that it has been the highest honor to represent in Madison. I am seeking re-election to the State Senate, this time in the 31st Senate District.
“The district number may be different, but our community remains the same. My record shows where my passions are and what my mission is. I make this promise to those I serve, have served, and will serve: I will continue to FIGHT FOR OUR FUTURE!”
