August 18, 2025 (New York, NY) – JewBelong, a national nonprofit organization that fights antisemitism and makes Judaism accessible, is launching a new billboard campaign near the University of Wisconsin-Madison this week, just in time for the August 28th football season opener against Miami of Ohio. Two billboards will go up this week, with a third scheduled for August 25, further amplifying the campaign’s message as students return for the fall semester. Reaching an estimated 33.27 million eyes, the striking pink and white billboards feature provocative, thought-provoking slogans calling out the persistent and dangerous presence of antisemitism on campuses nationwide.

Their locations and slogans are as follows:

From chalk messages labeling Jewish student groups “genocidal” at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, to social media posts at UW–Milwaukee branding Hillel supporters as “extremist criminals,” college campuses in Wisconsin have seen a disturbing surge in antisemitic rhetoric and hostility targeting Jewish students. Wisconsin experienced a 184% increase in antisemitic incidents from 2022 to 2024. In 2024, the Anti-Defamation League tabulated 9,354 antisemitic incidents across the United States, representing a 5% increase from the previous all-time record in 2023. Over the past 5 and 10 years, antisemitism has increased 344% and 893% respectively.

“It’s a terrifying time to be a Jewish college student. Jewish students do not feel safe and are up against some of the worst antisemitism of our lifetime,” says JewBelong co-founder Archie Gottesman. “The Jewish community is only 2% of the entire country, so we need to work extra hard to break through to the wider American public. Schools need to do better. Jewish students deserve to be safe on campus.”
