~Only Candidate Running to Restore High Standards For Wisconsin Students~

Madison, WI – Today, former special education teacher, award-winning public school principal, and literacy advocate, Brittany Kinser, filed more than 3,500 signatures to qualify for the February primary election for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

“I am grateful for the enthusiastic reception my message has received from grassroots leaders across Wisconsin who share my dedication to restoring high academic standards and making sure our children have the skills they will need to succeed in college, trade school, or work. In three short weeks, during the busy holiday season, many devoted volunteers have gathered thousands of signatures from every corner of the state. This is just the start of our grassroots effort to demand the best education possible for our children.” 

Who is Brittany Kinser? 

Brittany Kinser is running for Superintendent of Public Instruction in the 2025 spring election. She has championed high standards for students and families throughout her career as an education leader. She has taught both science and special education in public schools. When she was an innovative principal at a public school serving low-income communities, then-State Superintendent Tony Evers honored her with the “Beating the Odds” award. She has held leadership positions in both local and national education organizations. Most recently, she was the co-founder of a high-impact literacy initiative addressing the reading crisis by coaching educators and school leaders how to teach students to read skillfully. With advanced degrees in education and a passion for expanding opportunities, Brittany is dedicated to creating transformative change for students and schools.

What is her Platform?

As a former special education teacher and elementary school principal, Brittany is committed to ensuring students can read, write, and do math skillfully. She wants to restore high academic standards and make sure students have the skills they need for good jobs after graduation. She is the only candidate running to restore high standards for Wisconsin students. 

She believes Wisconsin must prioritize reading, writing, math, and science to provide the foundation for meaningful careers and a bright future.

Who is supporting her campaign?

Brittany is in this race to help Wisconsin kids. No special interest or political party recruited Brittany to run. Her campaign is powered by volunteers and activists from across the political spectrum.  

While these Spring Elections are nonpartisan in nature, rarely do you see such a broad coalition of support for a candidate like Brittany for statewide office.

When is the Election?

A primary election will be held on February 18, 2025. The top two candidates will advance to the April 1, 2025 Spring election.
