La Crosse, WI. – Today, Republican leadership is proud to welcome Vice President JD Vance to La Crosse to celebrate the passage of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill—a historic piece of legislation that delivers for small businesses, working families, seniors, farmers, and every community across Wisconsin.
Supporting Small and Local Businesses
This Republican authored legislation makes the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent at 23%, raises the expensing cap to $2.5 million so entrepreneurs can invest and grow, and cuts red tape by increasing the 1099-MISC threshold to $2,000. These reforms will empower Wisconsin’s Main Street businesses to expand and hire more workers.
Delivering Relief for Hardworking Americans
This common sense economic framework raises wages in Wisconsin by up to $6,400, while increasing take-home pay for a typical family of four by as much as $10,100. By eliminating taxes on tips and overtime, families will save an additional $1,500 each year. Republicans also made the Child Tax Credit permanent at $2,200 per child and expanded 529 accounts with new Trump Saving Accounts for newborns—all while protecting SNAP as reported by Congressman Derrick Van Orden.
Providing for Our Seniors
This new law guarantees no tax on Social Security, delivers a new $6,000 deduction for seniors, and restores integrity to Medicaid and Medicare programs.
Unleashing American Energy
The law also strengthens our energy security by refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, streamlining permitting, lowering royalty rates to reduce costs, and investing in a stronger energy grid and critical mineral supply chain.
Strengthening Rural Healthcare and Farming
Wisconsin will receive more than $500 million for rural healthcare, enhanced BadgerCare funding, and vital Medicare protections. Our farmers will benefit from the strongest safety net since 2002, reduced crop insurance costs, protection from the Death Tax, and expanded dairy support.
Securing the Border
Finally, Republicans are keeping America safe with $46 billion to finish the border wall, rebuild the Border Patrol workforce, invest in cutting-edge technology to stop fentanyl, and enforce long-standing immigration laws.
