Madison, WI — On July 20, the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin (LPWI) passed a resolution supporting Libertarian activism within the emerging national “No Kings” protest movement.

The resolution recognizes the movement’s broad public appeal and potential to unite Americans disillusioned with political corruption, corporate monopolies, and state overreach. The Party sees this moment as a critical opportunity to assert a bold libertarian vision and offer real solutions.

“Libertarians don’t just oppose kings, we oppose every form of tyranny,” said Reese Wood, Chair of LPWI. “We’re encouraging our members to show up, speak up, and lead with principled ideas that empower individuals, not rulers.”

The resolution encourages all LPWI members and affiliates to attend No Kings protests to educate, recruit, and amplify the message that liberty is the true antidote to tyranny.

It further defines “No Kings” through a clear libertarian lens, calling for:

Just Wars – Repeal the War Powers Act and end all offensive wars

Independent Commerce – Repeal tariffs, end subsidies, and dismantle government-created cartels

Worker Self-Ownership – Eliminate monopolistic practices and restore union independence

Due Process – Abolish laws against victimless crimes

Civil Liberties – End qualified immunity and demilitarize law enforcement

The resolution proudly asserts: The Libertarian Party is the only Party of No Kings.
