MADISON, WI – The Libertarian Party of Wisconsin (LPWI) strongly calls on Wisconsin’s U.S. House representatives to sign on as cosponsors and vote in favor of H.Res. 581, the Epstein Transparency Act, introduced by Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY). This resolution demands the release of all unclassified documents, communications, and investigative records related to Jeffrey Epstein held by the Department of Justice and FBI. As of today, not a single Wisconsin representative has endorsed this critical measure, a stance LPWI deems unacceptable.

The Epstein case represents a glaring example of government secrecy and potential abuse of power, issues that demand immediate action. LPWI Chair Reese Wood stated, “The people of Wisconsin and the nation deserve the truth. We urge our representatives to stand with liberty and justice by supporting this resolution.”

Wisconsin’s congressional delegation includes the following representatives: Bryan Steil (1st District), Mark Pocan (2nd District), Derrick Van Orden (3rd District), Gwen Moore (4th District), Scott Fitzgerald (5th District), Glenn Grothman (6th District), Tom Tiffany (7th District), Mike Gallagher (8th District), and Brad Pfaff (temporary appointee for the 3rd District following a recent vacancy).

LPWI implores each of these individuals to act decisively by cosponsoring H.Res. 581 and voting yes when it comes to the floor.

The motion to discharge the Committee on Rules, filed on September 2, 2025, by Rep. Massie, signals a growing momentum to force consideration of this bill, which has languished since its introduction on July 15, 2025. LPWI encourages Wisconsinites to contact their representatives—via https://www.house.gov/htbin/findrep —and demand a clear “yes” or “no” on this issue. Until all unclassified documents are released, the fight for transparency remains unfinished.
