MADISON— Last night, 5 small business owner members of the Main Street Alliance joined Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin State Legislature for the Wisconsin State of the State. MSA is thrilled that Governor Evers announced $500m for child care. Supporting the workforce behind the workforce is critical to ensure small businesses are able to attract and retain the staff needed to grow.

Brooke Legler, owner of the Growing Tree in New Glarus, WI shares her experience:

“I appreciate MSA making sure that small business owners like myself are included in our government processes.  This was my first time attending The State of the State, and I am excited for Governor Evers’ budget proposal and his plan for the “year of the child.”  It is important for our state and policymakers to understand that our future is our children and the support and resources that we either provide or not provide to our children has a significant impact on our State’s future.”

Corrine Hendrickson, Owner of Corrine’s Little Explorers:

“As a small business owner, and Main Street Alliance member, I am excited Governor Evers declared 2025 “The Year of the Kid.” Our children need healthy communities with strong main streets to grow up in with child care, health care, and a wide variety of small businesses ensuring our children grow into tomorrow’s innovators who stay in Wisconsin to raise their families.”
