Campaign Releases New Video Highlighting Plan for Reliable, Affordable, Clean Energy
MADISON, WI — Will Martin, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, today outlined his “all-of-the-above” energy strategy to strengthen Wisconsin’s economy, lower costs for working families, and protect the state’s natural resources for future generations.
“For too long, Wisconsin has been told we have to choose between a strong economy and protecting our environment,” Martin said. “I reject that premise. We can create jobs, keep energy affordable, and preserve our air, water, and land. The way forward is an all-of-the-above strategy that uses every reliable, proven energy source available to us.”
Martin’s plan focuses on three key principles: reliability, affordability, and environmental responsibility. He emphasized that Wisconsin needs steady energy supplies that can support manufacturing, family budgets, and long-term growth without sacrificing conservation or rural livelihoods.
“Nuclear energy has to be part of Wisconsin’s future,” Martin said. “It provides carbon-free electricity twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. That kind of safe, dependable baseload power helps keep prices stable and reduces emissions without asking families or employers to shoulder higher costs.”
Martin also reaffirmed his support for renewable energy development when it is done responsibly and in the right
locations.
“Renewables matter, but so does Wisconsin farmland,” Martin said. “We should not be converting productive family farms into industrial-scale solar fields. We can expand renewables in smart places while preserving our rural way of life and our agricultural economy.”
Martin said an all-of-the-above approach gives Wisconsin the best chance to remain competitive, energy independent, and environmentally strong.
“This is about common sense and the Wisconsin way,” Martin added. “Use what works, invest in new technology, keep costs down, and protect what makes our state special. That is how we secure a brighter, cleaner, more prosperous future.”
