MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Anti-war Committee will hold a standing rally on Saturday, November 22, at 2 pm at Milwaukee City Hall (200 E. Well St.). In collaboration with CODE PINK Milwaukee and other grassroots organizations, the people of Milwaukee will demand that the US ends its illegal attacks on Venezuela!

Since September, the US military has attacked 19 boats and killed more than 76 people for carrying drugs in the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea despite any evidence to support these lies. Alongside the incessant air strikes, the Pentagon deployed the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, the world’s largest aircraft carrier and largest warship, to the Caribbean. While the attacks on Venezuela are rapidly escalating under the Trump administration, US provocation and interventions in Latin America are not new but rather a long history of US imperialism. The Milwaukee Anti-war Committee demands that it get its hands out of Venezuela and out of Latin America!

Speakers from various community organizations will address the crowd, raising awareness on the history of US interventions in Latin America, drawing connections between the Iraq War and the illegal attacks on Venezuela, and mobilizing people to fight against US imperialism. The program will include chanting, speeches, and handing out educational materials.

This action is part of the Anti-war Action Network’s week of emergency protests to demand No War on Venezuela! No Troops on our Streets!
