Milwaukee, WI – October 17, 2025—The Young Republican National Federation has chosen Milwaukee as its target by announcing it as the location for their 2027 Young Republican National Convention (YRNC). As of now, no elected officials from Milwaukee have made a statement about this plan to bring over 1,000 attendees to our city. However, we will lead a protest against the YRNC when they visit our city.
The Milwaukee Fights Back Against Trump (MFBAT) Coalition stands against the racist and reactionary agenda of the Republicans and acknowledges that they are not welcome in our city. “Wisconsin Republicans made sure to take millions of revenue generated by Milwaukee, but failed to invest it back into the county or city. This has been made apparent since the passing of Act 12 in 2023,” says Robby Knapp, Co-Chair of MFBAT. “So, not only are they robbing us of our own money and not adequately funding social programs, they’re using our city to prop up their hateful rhetoric and agenda.”
With the murder of Samuel Sharpe Jr. during the Republican National Convention in July 2024 at the hands of Columbus PD, this convention brings even more concerns. Andrea Waters, Co-Chair of the MFBAT Coalition, remarks, “The last time Republicans came to town, things got deadly. We lost Samuel Sharpe Jr. just last year during the RNC due to trigger-happy cops who aren’t even from Wisconsin. Why is our city welcoming the Republicans again when they have only tried to harm our communities? The Milwaukee Fights Back Against Trump Coalition will be marching in sight and sound of the YRNC in 2027 when they come to town.”
Once again, Milwaukee Democrats are rolling out the red carpet for the Republicans to use our city. No local elected officials have commented on this event, even after headlines of leaked Telegram messages from the Young Republican National Federation exposed them for being the degenerates they are—racist, anti-LBGTQ, and anti-woman. “If Milwaukee proclaimed racism a public health issue in 2023, why are they rolling out the red carpet for these openly racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, anti-LBGTQ, anti-immigrant republicans?” noted Knapp.
“Cavalier Johnson, I implore you to step up to the Republicans and let them know our city does not support anyone who spouts this hateful rhetoric,” continued Waters. “The ones responsible for taking from our city should not be the ones to enjoy it.”
