“Last night’s address was yet another distraction orchestrated by Donald Trump aimed to deflect, deny, and defend his egregious attack on young, working-class people across the country. Trump entered office with a promise to make our lives better, but instead of focusing on actually helping us, Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans in Congress are only helping themselves. So far, all they have done is make a plan to cut taxes for billionaires and large corporations and pay for it by defunding Medicaid, gutting food assistance programs, and laying off thousands of federal employees who work in essential offices like the FAA and FDA.
