May 12, 2025 (Madison) – The nation’s leading small-business association, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), today announced Luke Bacher as their new State Director in Wisconsin. Bacher will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s state advocacy, operations, political engagement, communications, and programming on behalf of NFIB’s thousands of members across the state.
“We are very pleased to have Luke Bacher joining our team as State Director,” said Charles Owens, NFIB’s Region Director for the Midwest. “Luke comes to us from the Wisconsin State Assembly where he served for over 20 years in the State Assembly, most recently as Chief of Staff and Communications Director in the Majority Leader’s office. Luke’s extensive experience in Madison has positioned him well to be an effective advocate for our 10,000 members in the state.”
Bacher’s time in the legislature has allowed him to work with a wide range of policy initiatives ranging from workforce development to cutting red tape and regulations, which gives him first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing Wisconsin’s small businesses.
“In my previous role at the State Capitol I have witnessed day-in and day-out the integral role of small and independent businesses in our communities,” said Bacher. “I am looking forward to working for an organization that represents these businesses by highlighting the critical role that they play in our state.”
