NFIB State Director, Luke Bacher, urged state legislators to alleviate regulatory burdens impacting Main Street

MADISON, WI (October 9, 2025) — Luke Bacher, National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) State Director in Wisconsin testified before a joint hearing of the State Senate Committee on Licensing, Regulatory Reform, State and Federal Affairs, as well as the Assembly Committee on Government Operations, Accountability, and Transparency in support of the Red Tape Reset legislative package.

The reform package will address the long-standing and unnecessary burden of outdated, duplicative, and unchecked regulations that hinder small businesses.

“Running a small business means navigating a complex web of rules and requirements –many of which have been on the books for decades without review or justification,” said Bacher.

“These regulations often create confusion, increase costs, and slow innovation. The Red Tape Reset package offers a common-sense solution: it restores legislative oversight, improves transparency, and ensures that every rule earns its place.”
