Organizers have invited Steil to attend and explain his recent vote to take food, health care, and more from Wisconsin families
OAK CREEK, Wis. – Tomorrow evening, constituents of Rep. Bryan Steil will host a town hall meeting in Oak Creek to discuss devastating cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and more that have been backed by Steil and Republicans in Congress. Organizers of the event have invited Rep. Steil to join the town hall to explain his positions and hear directly from constituents about how these cuts would affect their lives.
Steil voted in favor of the Republican Tax Scam, which cuts Medicaid and SNAP—taking food and health care from working Wisconsin families, seniors, and veterans to pay for new tax breaks to the ultra-rich and big corporations.
“Congressman Steil owes his constituents an answer about why he would vote for a bill that puts billionaires over the people he represents,” said Bird on a Wire founder LuAnn Bird. “This bill hurts working people—taking health care and food from Wisconsinites, raising costs, and threatening to close rural hospitals just to give more tax breaks to those who are already at the very top. We hope Congressman Steil takes this opportunity to listen to our concerns and explain his support for the Republican Tax Scam.”
The town hall is hosted by Birds on a Wire and co-hosted by Opportunity Wisconsin and Indivisible. Members of the public interested in attending can RSVP online here.
