U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Town of Vermont, today told Wisconsin Dems they need to fight harder than ever before as he condemned President Donald Trump’s policies.
Pocan knocked the reconciliation bill currently working its way through Congress to advance Trump’s agenda, legislation he called the “big, ugly bill.”
“He’ll cut health care for 16 million people, food assistance for 11 million people, and education funding for millions as well. He’ll even cut Medicaid a half a trillion dollars because he needs that money for the tax breaks for Elon Musk and his campaign donors,” Pocan said of Trump.
Pocan also ridiculed Trump’s Washington, D.C., military parade for the 250th anniversary of the Army today, also Trump’s birthday. He said the event was meant for Trump’s birthday and the parade was one “that only Kim Jong Un or Vladimir Putin could rival.”

Pocan also touted his town halls in Republican districts, including four in and around GOP U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s 3rd CD. He claimed Van Orden has never held an in-person town hall.
