MADISON, Wis. – Today, Joint Finance Committee Republicans voted today to strip Governor Evers’ budget of 612 common-sense proposals that address the needs of everyday Wisconsinites such as child care funding, boosting of funding for PFAS remediation, money for lead removal, and legalization of marijuana. In response, Representative Anderson (D-Beloit) released the following statement:

“I’m disappointed, but not surprised, by the Joint Finance Committee Republicans’ continued disregard for the needs of everyday Wisconsinites. While knocking doors last fall and this spring, the message I heard most clearly was that people want us to come together to lower costs, fully fund our public schools, and protect their rights. I remain committed to fighting for a budget that puts Wisconsin families first.”
