In response to the Assembly Committee Government Operations, Accountability, and Transparency informational hearing on telework, space management, and cyber security, Representative Bare (D-Verona) released the following statement:
“Today, Assembly Government Operations, Accountability, and Transparency Committee Republicans blew a hole in their argument to end remote work for all state workers. Remote work policies were born from crisis and have turned into a success. Questions about this policy have been litigated by the Legislature and it is obviously working. We now have state workers spread across the state. We have achieved savings by consolidating physical space. We have also stayed competitive with the private market by appealing to how employees wish to work. Turning the calendar back to February 2020 would be a colossal mistake for the operations of our state government. We should be more focused on bipartisan solutions for our state, not trying to copy and paste President Trump’s bad ideas.”
