MADISON, WI – This evening, Governor Tony Evers presented his proposal for the 2025-2027 Wisconsin State Budget. Following the Governor’s speech, State Representative Brent Jacobson (R – Mosinee) issued the following response:
“For over a decade, Wisconsin Republicans have fought for fiscal responsibility in the State Budget,” said Rep. Jacobson. “As a result, while neighboring states face deficits and budget shortfalls, Wisconsin is going into the 2025-27 Budget with a surplus and historically low taxes. The reckless spending and government growth proposed by Governor Evers would reverse this hard-fought progress and bury Wisconsin taxpayers in unaffordable mandates and programs.”
“I am committed to fighting to return our state surplus to the taxpayers, and passing a budget that continues the responsible investments Republicans have made in our roads, farms, and law enforcement. In the coming months, I will be meeting with my constituents to discuss their priorities for the 2025-27 budget. I look forward to crafting a budget that will keep Wisconsin moving Forward.”
